The Camp Counselors provide direct supervision and intentional interactions to an assigned group of campers during the seasonal day camp. Provide a safe, fun, quality experience to children focused on our YMCA core values of caring, honesty, inclusion, respect, and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Supervise and interact with a group of children, along with co-counselors.
• Plan and implement program activities, following a designed schedule, that are developmentally appropriate and consistent with the YMCA core values; Maintain accurate attendance records; tracking students before, during, and after each activity and transition.
• Maintain positive relations and provide support to co-workers; assist specialists in all activities with campers, i.e. arts and crafts, sports, ropes, etc.; actively participate in each of the camp areas, role modeling teamwork and sportsmanship.
• At least 18 years of age
• Completed senior year of high school
• Experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting
• Enjoys and is physically able to work outdoors
• CPR, First Aid, Epi-pen, & AED certified prior to the start of camp
